“If you are exposed to violence, it’s time to act…seek help

The project STEP4GBV aims to increase the competencies of professionals working in the field of gender-based violence (GBV) and to develop and test new intervention methods package tools.

Throughout the project, 4 transnational workshops took place in Nicosia, Prague, Burgas and Milan.

Workshop participants were introduced to programmes designed to support victims of GBV and to treat perpetrators. These programs have of a form of individual, couples or group therapy. Part of the workshops also focused on diagnostic tools and methods of working with unmotivated clients. The participants also had a chance to visit various types of shelters (i.e. for human trafficking victims or victims of gender-based violence) and a center which provides immediate support to victims of sexual assaults; as well as a prison where a complex programme for sexual offenders is been conducted. Workshop participants were also encouraged to echange ideas and experiences related to their target groups.
