The aim of this activity is:

  1. to enhance the practical exchange of knowledge among participating organizations’ staff on currently used methodologies and tools for supporting Gender-Based Violence (GBV) victims and treating perpetrators,
  2. to train and inform front-line professionals and associated governmental bodies for issues contributing to the protection and support of victims of gender-based violence as per Directive 2012/29/EU which establishes minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime.

For the above purposes, 4 transnational workshops will be carried out in Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

This activity aims to formulate and validate new intervention methods package tools for the participating countries by combining elements of the various methodologies that have been presented by the partners, in order to support both GBV victims and to provide support for the treatment of perpetrators. The new intervention methods package tools aim at enhancing the capacity of professionals who provide specialised support to GBV victims in shelters and other forms of safe, accessible and alternative accommodation, legal advice, psychological counselling, helplines/hotlines, victim support government officials working in related services, and professionals who provide treatment to perpetrators, so as to capitalize on the exchange of experiences and expertise of the participating organisations.
Each organisation will evaluate which of these methodologies and/or tools presented can be applied to their country and according to the target groups they are working with.
The objective of this activity is the continuing monitoring and evaluation of the overall project activities in terms of effectiveness and sustainability. A set of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms (pre/post questionnaires, focus groups, surveys etc.) tailored to the needs of the target group will be used for this purpose. More specifically, this activity aims to measure the behavioural change of the target groups (professionals, victims, perpetrators) by assessing how the project’s activities and the use of the deliverables have led to attitudinal and behavioural changes among the target groups, e.g. relevant professionals know where to refer victims, collaborate more and use effectively the new intervention methods package tools, or governmental officers modifying their decision making process and activities and the tendencies of victims and/or potential victims to speak up respectively.
The objective of this set of activities is to disseminate the project’s deliverables and to implement activities in order to effectively reach as many stakeholders as possible and more importantly to urge and empower GBV victims, in addition to bystanders and the general public, to build healthy relationships and promote a culture of zero tolerance to violence against women. Furthermore, the aims of dissemination actions include:
• Increasing awareness of the scope of GBV and its impact
• Improving services for survivors of violence
• Strengthening prevention efforts
• Improving and promoting services for perpetrators
• Improving awareness of victims’ rights according to the Directive 2012/29/EU
